Students

Sunrise provides the ultimate riding and learning environment for any eventer, whether you are just starting out with your first event horse or have ambitions to ride thru advanced. Living in the heart of Virginia Horse Country, our students have the opportunity to ride with some of the world's finest in Dressage and Eventing at clinics, either at the Virginia Horse Center, here at Sunrise or at surrounding facilities. We also provide the unique opportunity to take regular lessons and clinics with professionals such as Jimmy Wofford, Sharon White ,Brian Ross, Lynn Symansky & Molly Hooper-Bull.

All our students can also compete in any of the Virginia Horse Trials schooling shows as well USEA & USEF recognized competitions held throughout the east coast.

Training

Horses at Sunrise are trained with the idea that the horse always comes first. We are systematic and methodical in their exposure to all the phases of our sport. We like to train horses to be confident, careful, fun and safe. All horses in training also benefit from lessons, clinics and exposure at all the schooling shows, xc schooling sessions and recognized events available to everyone else.

Washington & Lee Eventing Team

Sunrise is very proud to announce that the Washington & Lee Eventing Team is based here. Located only 4 miles from Washington & Lee campus, Sunrise offers a convenient and professional facility to board and ride your horse. We offer lessons on our horses to those who would like to be a part of the team but do not have a horse of their own. We also offer regular lessons to all other team members, and the same opportunities to ride with top dressage and eventing riders that our regular students have.
