The Farm
Our picturesque family farm spans over approximately 250 acres of rolling hills, green pastures, wooded trails, a refreshing creek and a winding river. All paddocks and pastures are surrounded by board fence and have ample and safe run-in sheds. Our pastures are sewn in orchard grass, and are dragged regularly to maintain the quality and nutritional value of our grass.

 

The Facility
We built the facility to be an efficient and safe environment to teach, train, learn and have fun with your equine friend. For your riding enjoyment we have a 100' x 200' sand riding ring, a schooling cross country course designed by internationally renowned trainer and Olympic judge, Brian Ross, and miles of winding trails to ride in or condition your horse. We also open the facility to Pony Club, clinics and combined training events several times per year. We will also be hosting two hunter paces in 2006.

 

The Upper Barn and New Barn
These barns house most of our performance horses and horses in training. It is a large, light and airy barn with 12' x 12' box stalls, three wash stalls with hot and cold running water, heated tack rooms, office, separate grain room, and bathroom. They have large windows and skylights, which provide air and sunlight during the summer, and close up to be very cozy, warm barns in the winter.

The Lower Barn
Specially remodeled in 1999 for our horses, this 10-stall barn is a great place for horses who like to be in a quieter environment. This barn has large windows in the back of the barn and the horses are able to hang their heads over their doors as well. This barn stays very cool all summer and also closes up to be very warm and cozy in the winter. It has 4 12' x 12' stalls, 4 12' x 10' stalls, and 2 8' x 10' stalls ponies. The walls between the stalls can easily be removed to accommodate larger horses or broodmares.

Feed and Hay
All of our horses are custom fed according to their individual needs. We feed top of the line Southern States feeds, as well as organically grown orchard grass and hay that we grow ourselves. Alfalfa or alfalfa mix is also available for horses who require it. Dr. Melyni Worth, PhD in equine nutrition, is a constant visitor and is available for nutritional consultations.

Broodmare Care and Foaling
We offer a special program for owners wishing Sunrise Stables to care for their broodmares and foal them out. We feed specially formulated broodmare feed and premium alfalfa hay. Our broodmares have large, safe stalls and ample paddocks for the foals to run.
